i've been taking a course about technology use in the classroom. i used to be a teacher (it seems like a lifetime ago) and i'm thinking seriously about returning to work in the classroom. taking this course (which i need to maintain my teaching certificate) has inspired me a little bit. as part of the class, we had to create a classroom blog (mine is imaginary, ha!) but it reminded me of my poor neglected little blog about my actual life. so until i have my own classroom, i will blog about my real life!
since there's no way i'd be able to catch up on everything from the past year, i'll just pretend that 11 months hasn't passed since i last posted and do a thanksgiving post : )
as we do every year, we spent thanksgiving in vermont with my sister's family. this year, we all drove up together (including my dad) on tuesday and had all day wednesday to prepare for the big day. my sister loves thanksgiving and has hosted it every year since she moved to vermont 11 years ago. my kids don't know anything different.
our visit was full of relaxation, laughter, good food, and a nice little dusting of snow to really get us in the holiday spirit. i've never been a black friday shopper....i'm not up for the crowds, the chaos, and the stress of it, nevermind leaving my warm cozy bed in the wee hours to try and save a few bucks.
i usually try and take our christmas card photos in vermont (especially if there's snow) but since katie wasn't with us this year, i decided to wait. i'm one of those people who has to take a picture of everyone together and not just use one i already had (even if it's a great picture)! this causes me a lot of stress and should be a post all it's own. but i do take some shots of the kids as well as my niece and nephew for their christmas card. here are a few snapshots of our time in vermont.
